About Colorescience

Colorescience is more than a colore cosmetic: the ingredients in every product provide skin benefits and are present in percentages to foster those benefits. Therefore Colorescience is a continuation of good skin care. This is in direct contradiction to traditional makeup, often known to exacerbate skin problems. With colorescience mineral makeup, you can throw out everything you know about traditional makeup....the rules have changed concerning packaging, product application, and results.
The creator Diane Ranger began her cosmetic business journey in 1976 when she founded her first brainchild, Bare Escentuals. In 1977, she invented mineral makeup out of customer demand for colore products that did not cause skin problems. No oils, perfumes, talcs, dyes or alcohols.
She researched extensively (without the benefit of the internet). She imported kohl from Egypt, and this inspired her to formulate with iron oxides instead of dyes. She left Bare Escentuals in 1990 and established Body Chemistry to manufacture mineral makeup.
Her vision was to make all colore products mineral and to establish and maintain the highest level of ingredient integrity and product efficacy. She launched Colorescience in 2000. Colorescience is taking mineral makeup to a whole new level.
All the formulas are original and they are unique to Colorescience. Colorescience products are the standard by which all others are judged. Their mission is to keep minerals pure and true to the original philosophy. Our passion is to share the benefits with all who will listen. We take ingredients very seriously, but we also believe that "making up" is about having fun. The joy of colore is as exciting as the science of minerals.
