Different products have a different shelf life but in general, anything used on the eye area should be thrown out every four to six months, moisturizers and foundations after about a year and powders after two or three years. Natural products tend to spoil more rapidly, because they don't usually contain preservatives.

Store them somewhere cool and dark and always ensure you replace the lids. Never add water to products that have dried out because you could introduce bacteris, causing skin breakouts or eye infections.
