Question
When I wake up in the morning my eyes are always all puffy. It gets better as the day goes on, but in the morning I'm all puffy. What can I do to get rid of this?
Answer
Puff happens-- especially around the eye area. The main cause of early-morning around the eye bloat is lymphatic fluids pooling in the orbital area, and there are many things you can do to both: 1) Move the puff out faster. 2) Prevent the puff altogether. Avoiding salty foods at night can keep water retention to a minimum, so start there. Apply night eye creams by gently pressing and massaging from the inner corner of the eye to the outer-- then back. (This compression can help stimulate the natural pumping action of the lymph glands, helping fluids to flow faster from less motion-associated areas.) We have the most amazing eye cream from ColoreScience that you actually use as a mask at night to combat puffiness. It is called Eyes Wide Open and makes a HUGE difference. We also have Kinerase Ultra Rich Eye Repair.
