Tanning beds have been deemed deadly
It's official: tanning beds can kill you. The International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organization, has moved the UV-yielding machines into the highest cancer-risk category. They share the dishonor with long-recognized carcinogens like tobacco, arsenic, and chimney sweeping.

Cancer experts have frowned upon tanning beds for years, calling them a "probable carcinogen." However, after reviewing various studies, IARC came to an unignorable conclusion: those who start using tanning beds before 30 increase their risk of getting skin cancer by a whopping 75%-a number that makes "probable" an understatement.

Although the European Sunbed Association claims that "responsible" use of tanning beds has never been linked to cancer, medical experts are seeing an undeniable parallel between a rise in tanning bed use and rise in skin cancer diagnoses in people under 30.

All the more reason to fake it not bake it with a spray tan!
