What is Dysport?« back to DysportDysport is so similar to Botox that it is referred to as Botox's twin or first cousin. Dysport is an injectable form of botulinum toxin Type A. This new wrinkle relaxer is approved to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines and has been used for several years in Europe and Canda. Like Botox, Dysport temporarily immobilizes the muscles that cause facial wrinkles. The drug specifically targets the glabullar muscles of the forehead-the ones that create frowns. Dysport is one of the latest products that mitigate the look of unwanted frown lines and wrinkles. It is made by Medicis Aesthetics, which is a company that thrives on perfecting skin. Dysport is a prescription injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults less than 65 years old. It takes one injection into five points around the eyebrows and takes 10 to 20 minutes in total. It temporarily prevents contraction of muscles and reduces that look of lines, but does not paralyze the muscles and areas of the face that were not treated.
