Our advanced laser uses a specific spectrum of light that targets the bacteria that creates acne. The laser treatment with the Fotona Max XP laser will entail a thorough cleaning of the infected area, application of a cooling gel, the laser treatment, another cleaning of the area, and an application of a moisturizing sunscreen. When the laser is in operation, the beam will be passed over the infected area destroying the bacteria. As the pore or follicle absorbs the heat energy it literally "cooks" the bacteria under the skin. Since acne has an increased blood supply the energy will be drawn to infected areas thus killing the active bacteria. Acne may drain on its own in 1-2 days. Generally very few of these powerful treatments are required.
