What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, non-chemical, non-invasive method of skin resurfacing. We use aluminum oxide micro particles along with suction to "sand" the surface of the skin. This causes the top layers of dead skin to be removed along with any impurities. Microdermabrasion is an intense exfoliation process that rejuvenates the skin. The exfoliation assists in the stimulation of microcirculation. Increasing the blood supply provides nutrients necessary for skin regeneration, repair, and increased cellular turnover. In return, improving the skin elasticity and texture as well as balancing the pigment.

We use microdermabrasion on fine lines, minor discolorations, hyper-pigmentation, scar revision, stretch marks, enlarged pores, blackheads, sun damaged skin, acne prone skin, and general exfoliation.

Microdermabrasion is performed in a series of treatments to bring the skin to a new level of health without compromising its' integrity. Treatments encourage new collagen formation. This results in a renewed plumpness of the skin and a more youthful appearing complexion. A beginning series of 6 treatments are recommended with each at approximately 2 week intervals. Each session takes about an hour. Follow up treatments every 2 or 3 months may be necessary to maintain results.

What do I need to do after my treatment?

After microdermabrasion, sunscreen should been applied for at least 72 hours to protect the area that was abraded. Be sure to moisturize as much as possible in order to hydrate the skin (sunscreen is a great moisturizer). Because several layers of skin were removed the skin will be dehydrated, replenishing and nourishing are very important to a successful outcome.

Who should consider Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is right for all skin types and for anyone interested in minimizing the appearance of: scarring, fine lines, pigmentation problems, uneven skin tones, dull, lifeless and sun-damaged skin.

Will I experience any discomfort during the treatment?
Initially, you may feel a very mild scratching sensation as the crystals make contact with the skin. As the treatments continue, this experience compares to a deep massage. Mild redness may occur for ½ an hour to one day depending on the aggressiveness of the program.
