Microdermabrasion Information« back to MicrodermabrasionWhat is microdermabrasion? We use microdermabrasion on fine lines, minor discolorations, hyper-pigmentation, scar revision, stretch marks, enlarged pores, blackheads, sun damaged skin, acne prone skin, and general exfoliation. Microdermabrasion is performed in a series of treatments to bring the skin to a new level of health without compromising its' integrity. Treatments encourage new collagen formation. This results in a renewed plumpness of the skin and a more youthful appearing complexion. A beginning series of 6 treatments are recommended with each at approximately 2 week intervals. Each session takes about an hour. Follow up treatments every 2 or 3 months may be necessary to maintain results.
What do I need to do after my treatment? After microdermabrasion, sunscreen should been applied for at least 72 hours to protect the area that was abraded. Be sure to moisturize as much as possible in order to hydrate the skin (sunscreen is a great moisturizer). Because several layers of skin were removed the skin will be dehydrated, replenishing and nourishing are very important to a successful outcome. Who should consider Microdermabrasion?
