Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns via collagen production. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help those looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks. Directly after the treatment your skin will most likely be red and have that warm sensation similar to a sun burn. This is completely normal and will subside after a day or two, and how you care for your skin during this time plays a HUGE role in your results!
So let’s get down to the do’s and don’ts.
For the first 72 hours only cleanse your face with room temperature water and a gentle cleanser, one of our favorites is Revision Skincare’s Gentle Cleansing Lotion!
Since your skin will feel dryer than normal, it is so important to hydrate your skin! We recommend a moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid for ultimate hydration!
Choosing to wear makeup too soon or selecting the wrong type of makeup can have adverse effects and may even cause lasting problems after Microneedling! We recommend waiting 3 days to wear makeup!
Stay Out of the Sun!
Immediately after your treatment you should apply a chemical free SPF 50. If you have to be outside be sure to wear SPF and a sun hat. These measures should also be a part of your regular day-to-day skin care routine, to protect your skin from premature aging.
